In this paper, the effects of nozzle transformation, nozzle leaking and steel sticking of oxygen lance on the service life of oxygen lance have been investigated and the specific causes for the three factors have been analyzed. The results indicates that by optimizing related parameters of the nozzle , establishing seven kinds of operation mode as followed: “low temperature and low silicon”, “medium temperature and medium silicon”, “high temperature and high silicon”, “low temperature and high silicon”, “high temperature and low silicon”, “high ratio of raw iron” and “high ratio of hot metal”, the service life of oxygen lance is increased by 141 furnace, the steel material consumption was reduced by 4Kg / t, the frequency of slag splashing was reduced by 3 Kg / t, oxygen consumption was decreased by1.9m3 / t,the lime consumption was reduced by 5Kg / t, the dephosphorization rate of converter was increased by 8%,the desulphurization rate of converter was increased by 4%.
