The metallurgical effects before and after reform of combined blowing is researched for 260 t converter. The results show that through the improving the combined blowing structure and process the phosphorus content in molten steel after reform is lower than that before reform. The oxygen content in molten steel and TFe content in the slag after reform are lower than that before reform. The product of carbon and oxygen after reform is lower than after reform during the whole converter campaign. Because there are many low carbon steels to produce, it is diffi- cult to maintain the furnace lining of converter. The results show that the lining life of converter and bottom blowing element life keep same life through changing the process of slag splashing and adjusting slag.
