Abstract:A hot rolled high manganese TRIP/TWIP steel was developed by TMCP technology. The effects of processing parameters of TMCP on microstructures and the relationship between the microstructure and mechanical were studied. The results show that this high manganese TRIP/TWIP steel could be produced by hot rolling. Meanwhile it exhibits high ultimate tensile strength (940 MPa) and elongation (40%) at strain rates of 10-3s-1. The influences of TMCP parameter, such as cooling rate and coiling temperature, are not very notable on mechanical properties of this high manganese steel. Its excellent mechanical properties are attributed to TRIP/TWIP effects. The high manganese steel shows ductile rupture after tensile test, then the cracks always initiate and expend along the grain boundary between austenite and martensite.
