Abstract:In order to study metallurgical properties of PCI, the combustibility and reactivity of six kinds of anthracite and one kind of bituminous coal were investigated by thermogravimetric analysis. The results showed that compared with anthracite, the combustibility and reactivity of bituminous coal are obviously higher than that of anthracite at different temperatures. The measurement value of the combustion rate of blended coal was greater than the weighted value. Using the mixed coal can give play to the advantages of anthracite and bituminous coal, accelerate the combustion process and improve the combustion rate of mixed coal. With the increase in the proportion of the coal with the particle size less than 74 μm in the mixed coal, the combustion rate increases. Under the condition of high coal ratio, the proportion of the coal with the particle size less than 74 μm in the mixed pulverized coals was controlled at about 75%. Combined with the combustion and reactivity experimental results of anthracite coal, it was suggested that the anthracite C should be purchased as much as possible in the procurement of pulverized coal, and the purchase quantity of the anthracite E should be controlled at the same time. The anthracite C should be selected as the preferred coal for anthracite injection in the operation of increasing the coal ratio in blast furnace, so as to enhance the combustion rate of mixed coal and play the role of unburned pulverized coal to protect coke.
