Feasibility Study of Pulverized Petroleum Coke Injection Into Blast Furnace

Abstract:Petroleum coke which replaces pulverized coal was injected into blast furnace. The fundamental characteristics for combustion temperature, reactivity, combustion performance, grindability and transportability were studied. The experimental results indicate that the combustion performance can be improved and the energy can be saved by replacement of pulverized coal injection by petroleum coke. The proportion of pulverized petroleum coke injection must not be too high by comprehensive consideration of transportability and sulphur load of BF.
