Abstract:During the continuous casting process of high-titanium welding wire steel, the steel slag interface reaction is serious in the mold. The solidification characteristics of steel A with severe steel slag interface reaction phenomenon were analyzed. Design A kind of low reactivity CaO-Al2O3 based mold flux for high-titanium welding wire steel was designed. Based on the phase diagram calculation, the w(CaO)/w(Al2O3) ratio was 1.0, w(Na2O) was 8%, w(MgO) was 3%, w(CaF2) was 4%-6%, w(B2O3) was 4%-10%, and w(SiO2) was 4%-12%, w(TC) was 8%-10%. The melting characteristics of mold flux were mainly studied by using melting point melting rate tester and rotational viscometer. It could be concluded that the CaO-Al2O3 based mold flux for high-titanium welding wire steel with suitable composition had a melting point of 1 037-1 129 ℃, a melting rate of 64-79 s, and a viscosity (1 300 ℃) of 0.325-0.554 Pa·s.
