Abstract:A 3D transient numerical model of molten steel and oxygen flow was built using CFD software. Through this model the effect of oxygen pressure on oxygen jet and molten steel flow was analyzed comprehensively. The simulation results show that the oxygen jet Mach number and the high-speed range increased with oxygen pressure rising. But the disturbance caused by multiple jets coalescence was the weakest only under designed oxygen pressure (0.8MPa). Moreover, jets under different oxygen pressures had further effect on the molten steel flow. Lower oxygen pressure (0.7MPa) led to low speed molten steel flow, while higher oxygen pressure (0.9MPa) could not obviously improve the flow field of molten steel.
