Abstract:According to the characteristics of energy consumption structure and energy conversion in steel manufacturing process, the core of optimizing energy flow in iron and steel manufacturing process is proposed, that is the conversion of coal and the recovery and utilization of secondary energy such as gas and waste heat. Under the guidance of metallurgical process engineering theory, it's pointed out that the coal based energy system of iron and steel manufacturing process is a complex large-scale system with emergent functions. By fully developing and utilizing its energy conversion function and coupling with other industries and social large-scale systems, a "polygeneration system of iron and steel, chemical industry, gas and hydrogen supply, electric power, heat and cooling supply" can be constructed, which will be more conducive to improve the energy efficiency and value of the system, and it can better realize the green and low-carbon transformation and development of iron and steel enterprises.
