UCM cold continuous rolling mills below 1 700 mm without the function of work roll shifting are widely used in China. So it can only rely on the contour design of the work roll edge to control the edge drop of silicon steel strip. A design method of work roll end profile for UCM cold tandem mill was proposed, which could not only greatly improve the edge drop control ability, but also effectively reduce the risk of breaking through the edge contour design with protective effect. The work roll curve is good for grinding to avoid the influence of the surface quality of the roll on the surface of the strip. The profile control characteristics of the work roll and intermediate roll bending were fully utilized, and the efficient and practical combination of roll bending profile control method was used to quickly and accurately control quadratic and quartic wave plate shape defects generated in the rolling process. The edge drop of silicon steel was well controlled while the flatness problem was solved. The technology has important research value and promotion prospects.
