Kinetic of control of [Al]s and [Ti] in oriented silicon steel during ladle standing process

The magnetic property and cleanliness of oriented silicon steels are significantly influenced by [Al]s and [Ti]. The [Al]s and [Ti] are required to be controlled in a very narrow range. Combining the FactSage software and programming, a kinetic model of the slagsteel reaction during the ladle standing process of oriented silicon steels was developed to predict the evolution of steel compositions. The effect of refining slag compositon on steel compositions is investigated. It was found that the slag basicity has a huge influence on the [Al]s and the lowering the TiO2 in slag can suppress the increase in [Ti] in oriented silicon steels.
