Abstract:In niobium microalloyed high strength steels, niobium can increase the nonrecrystallization temperature so that controlled rolling and controlled cooling can be realized. Meantime, niobium precipitation strengthening is utilized to further improve the strength and toughness of the steels. In this paper, the feasibility of Nb(C,N) as inhibitors in oriented silicon steels was analyzed in consideration of the characteristics and requirements of inhibitors. Nb(C,N) can be used as promising inhibitors in oriented silicon steels due to its good features and superiority such as lower solubility temperature and smaller precipitate size, compared with conventional inhibitors.
