Abstract:The residual Ti element has a detrimental effect on magnetism, so the Ti mass fraction in the steel should be reduced as much as possible. The Ti mass fraction in tundish of non- oriented silicon steel with different grades for a period time was investigated, and the influence factors of Ti mass fraction were analyzed. The result shows that the main influence factors of excessive Ti mass fraction of non- oriented silicon steel are ferrosilicon alloy, desulphurization process by powder blowing and Ti increasing in tundish, whose normal average Ti increment is 0.001 5%, 0.000 3% and 0.000 6%, respectively. The average Ti mass fraction in non- oriented silicon steel in the tundish increases with the improvement of grades. With the improvement of Si mass fraction in non- oriented silicon steel of different grades, the average Ti mass fraction in molten steel at the end of RH also increases. And it increases from 0.000 75% to 0.002 03%, while the Si mass fraction increases from 0.31% to 3.05%.
