The shape control method and the shape control requirements of each pass for the 20roll Sendzimir mill were introduced. Though the 20roll Sendzimir mill has a strong stripshaped control capability, it also has some shortcomings of reversible cold rolling mills, such as starting rolling and tail flicking, drastic change of strip shape, and even in the rolling process, the need for manual control of the operator. The 20roll Sendzimir mill has some stripshaped control means, but sometimes it can not easily eliminate the complex bad shape. The production practice showed that the proper presetting of the starting value for the first intermediate roll at the first pass, the control of the shape symmetry of the steel strip and the stress of the strip edges, and the uniform specification of the rolling shape control of each pass could effectively avoid the strip break, ensure the steady rolling of the 20roller Sendzimir mill and improve the shape uniformity of the silicon steel products.
