Abstract:A qualitative tower detection method was used to test 20CrH round steel for piston pin, whose results were compared to that in other steel mills. The study found that the clustered black line was center segregation line and was more serious, which can not meet the requirement of the user. In order to improve center segregation, the system of the heating process of rolling was optimized, while, the effect was not obvious. Therefore, the steelmaking process needed to further optimize to remit the center segregation. The qualitative detection method can fully reflect the internal quality, the surface quality and inner hole quality of piston pin. It can provide guidance and reference for piston pin steel inspection and standard setting.
