Abstract:Energy saving is the core content of long- term development in steel plant. Hot metal with high temperature is regarded as the carrier of energy flow during the smelting process, and the temperature of hot metal is always one of the key factors to reduce the cost of steel production and ensure the quality of steel products. By reviewing the main methods and influencing factors of hot metal heat loss from blast furnace to basic oxygen furnace, the key problems of temperature drop in the transportation of hot metal were analyzed. It was pointed out that the new interface technology "one ladle mode" was the basic guarantee for the period and the small temperature drop. Hot metal covering could be prepared for reducing the heat loss of hot metal surface. And the heat insulation structure of hot metal ladle should be optimized, including the addition of insulation layer and lid, which could provide reference and basis for further reducing the temperature drop of molten iron.
