Abstract:China’s iron and steel industry has basically finished industrialization, realized mechanization, electrification and automation, and the iron and steel output makes up 50% of the world total. However, as China steps into post-industrial age, the problem of resource and energy becomes increasingly obvious. Nature can hardly afford the heavy load of demand, and the problem of pollution and emission has already met the extremity of nature’s sustainability. In order to realize the harmonious, coordinative and sustainable development of China’s iron and steel industry, research of ecological steel rolling technology in accommodation with post-industrial age is extremely urgent. Significant ecological rolling technology in post-industrial age (e.g., minimization, low-carbonization and digitization) were summarized according to the international trend of iron and steel industry development and China’s great demand, combining with the development of technology and equipment development platform of Iron and Steel Generic Technology Collaborative Innovation Centre of “2011 Program”. It aims to provide guidance for self-innovation, technological reform and transformation development of enterprises.
