Energy conservation and emission reduction is one of the major problems of ironmaking and steelmaking industries. Combined with practical situation of China's iron making industry, optimization measures of achieving e- mission reduction in traditional blast furnace process were analyzed. The carbon reduction technologies based on re- ducing the blast furnace fuel ratio and development and utilization of low carbon energy were introduced. The devel- opment of the carbon reduction ways in China's ironmaking system was prospected due to the demand of gas based direct reduction technology and the features of distribution and structure of exsisting energy and resource in China.
