Dioxin is mostly generated during the sintering in the iron and steel making processes and waste incineration. The mechanism of dioxin generation during sintering and waste incineration is compared. The article discusses and compares separately the existing technologies of dioxin control in three aspects of inhibitor mixture, process control and flue gas treatment. The conclusion is that the pollution of dioxin should be solved perfectly in flue gas emission. The article suggests controlling dioxin in flue gas from sintering process can consult the SCR technology for waste incineration. And controlling dioxin in waste incineration can utilize the active carbon removal and desulphurization technology for flue gas from sintering process.
