Experimental Study on Sintering With Addition of Brazilian Southern Fine Ore in Ansteel

With the supply of locally produced iron ore concentrate decreasing year by year, it is inevitable to expand the amount of imports ore for Ansteel. In this paper, according to the raw materials condition of sintering plant of iron making plant and Western District of Ansteel,the sintering cup tests with addition of southern Brazil powder ore were done in the laboratory. The results are as follows. With the addition of Brazilian ore fines more than 20%, the drum strength of sinter decreased significantly. As the ratio of southern Brazil powder increasing, vertical sintering velocity elevates, vertical sintering velocity improves and fuel consumption increases. Under the same ratio condition, the drum strength of sinter of C ore proportioning is higher than A and B ore proportioning, but vertical sintering velocity is slower, vertical sintering velocity is lower and fuel consumption increases. With the addition of Brazilian ore fines more than 20%, the RDI tends to worse. Under the same ratio condition, the RDI of the sinter of C ore proportioning is optimal. For this theory, when the ratio of southern Brazil powder is less than 20%, the good sintering indexes can be obtained. The B ore matching scheme should be avoided.
