Abstract:The factors which affect the FeO content of sinter ore were identified by single-factor test method. The affecting factors include: fixed carbon of mixture, SiO2 content, basicity, TiO2 content, ratio of return fines from sintering, thickness of sinter layer and moisture of mixture. Wherein, the fixed carbon of mixture had significantly impact and showed the strong correlation. The practical production model was built according to the calculation formula of solid carbon of mixture by Excel table. Both mid-value of FeO content of sinter and the solid-carbon of mixture were ensured. The FeO content of sinter controlled stably was realized by adjusting the solid-carbon of mixture appropriately, gradually and timely with the change of raw material structure and the content of sinter. The method of controlling the FeO content of sinter by adjusting the solid-carbon content of mixture has adopted since 2006 by Panzhihua Steel Vanadium Ironmaking Plant. Since then, the stable ratio of FeO content of sinter has increased 5.61%. At the mean while, the carbon consumption, index of tumbler, utilization ratio of sintering machine and other indexes have been also improved.
