he recovery and utilization of waste heat resources in sintering process is one of the effective ways to reduce the energy consumption of sintering process. Because there are many inadequacies such as air leakage, the grade and efficiency of waste heat recovery are low etc in the traditional cooling machine, which are difficult to overcome. Borrowing ideas from the structure and craft of dry quenching furnace in the CDQ(coke dry quenching) technology, the structure and craft of waste heat recovery and utilization for sinter in vertical tank are proposed, and the three key problems are clearly showed about the technology.the research shows:the recovery and utilization in vertical tank is a new way for high efficiency of recovery and utilization for sinter waste heat resources, the high efficiency of recovery for sinter waste heat resources is not only realized,but also the grade of heat-carrying agent that are hot air becomes higher, which is good for the follow-up utilization of waste heat. whether it is feasible it base on the three key problems such as the resistance character of layer, gas-solid heat transfer of layer and the influences of the cooling way for the sintering metallurgy performance. the three key problems need to be studied.
