By means of solar energy resources research of xinjiang bazhou and analysis on carbon usage and greenhouse gas emission in carbon metallurgy process, a new concept named “non-carbon metallurgy by solar energy photovoltaic technology” was put forward. With the purpose of establishment of independent energy-metallurgy system which is the technology difficult point of the concept, the platform with 1kg nominal capacity furnace and 1.2kw PV power station has been design and built to perform the experimental research. “Non-carbon metallurgy by solar energy photovoltaic technology” contains four unit technology and one system integration technology. Four kinds of exploratory experiments have been carried out by technology integration which made the concept come off. It is the interpenetration and blend of technology of PV power and metallurgy. On this basis, the intention of the concept was clearly given. With the discussion of its production features, the future of non-carbon metallurgy was envisaged.
