Abstract:The high carbon steel 50-2 was cracked seriously during the stamping process after annealing in a bell-type annealing furnace. Using photoelectric direct reading spectrometer, Neophot Ⅲ type optical microscope, TCH600 nitrogen oxygen analyzer, rockwell hardness measurement method (HR) of class B scale on the defect sample chemical composition, organization performance carried on the thorough research. The results show that high nitrogen content and short soaking time of anneal are the main causes of stamping toe cap cracking. By optimizing steelmaking process and annealing process, the cracking defect rate of stamping has been greatly reduced, and the product quality has finally met the production requirements.
