Tundish fluxes play a more and more important role in the tundish metallurgy process,directly affecting the steel cleanliness of the steel products. Physiochemical properties of tundish fluxes are the key factor for thermal insulation,reoxidation protection,and inclusion absorption. Laboratory experiments were conducted to study the effect of basicity of tundish fluxes on melting properties. In order to study the absorption of Al2O3 inclusions by tundish fluxes,the sessile drop method was employed to measure the contact angle between tundish fluxes and the Al2O3 substrate. Aiming at the corrosion of refractory,the penetration depth of tundish fluxes in Al2O3 substrate was studied. With the increase of basicity,the start and end melting temperature were increased, and the absorption capacity of Al2O3 inclusions was improved.
