Influence of CaF2 on Premelting Character and Desulfurization of Calcium Aluminate Premelted Refining Slag

Abstract:Quaternary slag system base on CaOAl2O3 with small addition of MgO and SiO2 is allocated in laboratory. The property of this slag after premelted by adding different proportion of CaF2 is studied. Result shows that the desulfurization effect of premelted slag with CaF2 is worse, so the calcium aluminate premelted slag base on 12CaO·7Al2O3 without CaF2 is adopted. The slag system has characters of low melting point, high optical basicity and good desulfurizing capacity. Its desulfurization efficiency reaches 80%.
