Abstract:After the slide gate slag-stopping technology has been applied in the 120 t converter in Masteel since 2013, the amount of the slag carryover during tapping is reduced significantly. Compared with the slag dart, the thickness of the slag layer in the ladle decreased from 117 to 64 mm. In terms of the steel grade of SPHC refined by LF, the average consumption of aluminum in each heat reduced from 127 to 108 kg, the percentage of phosphorus pick-up (<0.005%) increased from 78% to 92%. As for Q235B, which was without the secondary refining, the yield of silicon and manganese increases by 3.6% and 1.2%, respectively. For the silicon steel refined by RH, the amount of premelting top-slag modification agent reduced by about 12%.
