Abstract:In order to reduce the consumption of steel material in the whole process of steelmaking, combined with the equipment and technological conditions in steelmaking plant of Xichang Steel and Vanadium,the relevant measures for improving the process of extracting vanadium, such as using quartz sand to adjust slag for low Si molten iron, optimizing the oxygen supply system, were proposed to reduce the TFe mass fraction in vanadium slag.And the w(CaO)/w(Mg) ratio should be optimized to reduce the amount of slag and slag splashing in the desulfurization process. In BOF steelmaking process,the BOF end-point temperature and the end-point C mass fraction should be optimized to reduce the TFe mass fraction in BOF slag.Through the implementation of the improvement measures, the TFe mass fraction in vanadium slag decreased from 28.59% to 26.72%,the loss of iron in the desulfurization process reduced from 2.94% to 2.63%, the TFe mass fraction in converter slag decreased from 20.09% to 19.00%.The consumption of steel material reduced from 1 112.73 in December 2015 to 1 107.55 kg/t in April 2016, which achieved the best level of the similar companies, and created enormous economic benefits.
