Abstract:The application effects for FC-Mold (Flow Control Mold) technology are researched in slab casting process, and the flame status and temperatures distribution in mold are emphasis researched. The results show that: the flame can uniform distribution in the surface of liquid steel by using appropriate current, and irrational current will not favorite to heat transfer and flame status. The temperature distribution is uniform by applying FC-Mold technology, and the average temperature difference can be decreased from 10℃ to 4℃. The mold slag consumption can be increased by using appropriate FC-Mold technology. And the mold slag consumption is increased 0.021 kg/t in experimental conditions. The oxide inclusion content in slab can be decreased 50% by using appropriate FC-Mold technology.
