Abstract:Large inclusions have an important influence on the surface quality of hot rolled strip. Tracer experiment and large sample electrolysis were used to analysis the source, composition and content of large inclusions in Q195 hot rolled strip. At the same time, the top slag of ladle and tundish was analyzed and then effective measures were proposed. The results showed that the major inclusions were Al2O3-SiO2-MnO, SiO2-MnO and SiO2. The particle size ranged from 50 to 2 000 μm, and the content ranged from 40 mg/10 kg to 145 mg/10 kg. The main sources of inclusions were ladle, tundish top slag and drainage agent. Besides, it was found that the oxygen content of top slag of ladle and tundish is higher and the basicity is lower. The covering agent of ladle and tundish should be optimized and the basicity should be improved to remove inclusions by adsorption.
