Abstract:In order to improve the cleanliness of 430 stainless steel,the effect of different melting point tundish fluxes on the cleanliness of 430 steel was analyzed by using the optical microscope,the scanning electron microscope and the electron probe. The results showed that the inclusion composition of 430 ferritic stainless steel produced by two kinds of basic fluxes powder were mainly CaO- SiO2- Al2O3- MgO. The tundish fluxes had little effect on the inclusion formed in the molten steel and can not change the inclusion type. When the tundish flux of low melting point was used in tundish,the inclusion number of 430 slab was smaller obviously than that when the tundish flux of high melting point was used.
