Though coking industry is highly energy-consuming and heavily air-pollutant, it has tremendous potential of energy saving and emission reduction. In view of the current problems of coking industry, present situation of coking process was analyzed. A new kind of coke oven named heat exchanged two-step coke oven was proposed, featuring a vertical structure and composed of drying and preheating chamber, heat exchanger, combustion and coking chambers. It can replace the existing coke oven, because of having the advantages of low coking heat consumption, high productive capacity, enlarging coal resources, saving investment, reducing environmental pollution and so on. It is a new solution for the development of coking industry.
