Upon the requirement to solve the problems of high energy-consuming and severe pollution in the coking industry, a recuperative two-zone coke oven and its related coking process were proposed in this paper. The regener- ator in traditional regenerative coke oven was to be replaced by recuperator, and a drying and preheating chamber was to be introduced as the upper part of the oven. The preheated-coal coking、efficient cascade utilization of waste gas heat and optimal allocation of energy resources were to be expected. By mass balance and heat balance calcula- tion, energy consumption of recuperative two-zone coke oven was analyzed and compared with traditional coke oven. It was predicted that the new coke oven would be of high productivity, energy saving and environmental protection. It explored a new way for the development of coking industry.
