Discussion on Limestone Addition Instead of Lime for Energy-Saving and Emission Reduction in BOF Steelmaking

This paper discusses a new idea of substituting lime with limestone in the BOF steelmaking, which could be more scientific and rational,without investment in equipment renewal than the traditional methods. It is feasible in operation and can get many more benefits such as saving energy, reducing emissions and costs. As result, it will bring enormous economic, environmental and social benefits. Thus it is worthy of test and promote.
