Abstract:The control of fluxsteel interface in the mold is an important process in the continuous slab casting operating. In order to investigate the flow dynamic behavior of the fluxsteel interface, an airfluxsteel three phase model was established. Using reynoldsstress model and Inhomogeneous mixing model, the flow field of the three phases in the mold have been simulated, the shape and position of fluxsteel interface were ascertained by volume fraction method. Asymmetric flow field will emerge when the SEN is not posited in the centre of mold, through investigation, it is found that the fluxsteel interface fluctuation is much higher in asymmetric flow field than in symmetric flow field of the same operating parameters, and biased flow or even vortex phenomenon will happen in asymmetric flow field, which will do serious harm to mold operating.
