Development and Application of Secondary Cooling Technic in Continuous Casting Process of Heavy Plate Slab

Based on the equipment parameters of Tian steel No.4 continous casting machine and the thermoplastic parameters of A36-1B steel,the solidification and heat transfer model of heavy plate slab has been established. The slab temperature distribution under different cooling strength and continous casting conditions are analyzed, and the secondary cooling parameters are optimized. The application results show that the slab cracks defects have been improved effectively.
