Abstract:Maximum local Joule heat generation density values of current-conductive mould ESR slag bath occur close to the electrode corner and the slag/mould interface. “High temperature zone” still is under the electrode. Removal of non-metallic inclusion during remelting occurred mainly in the first stage of consumable electrode forming molten drop and the second stage of molten drop passing through the slag bath. Analysing removal ratio of non-metallic inclusion during the stage of forming molten drop, the stage of molten drop passing through the slag bath and the rising stage of non-metallic inclusion in metal molten bath, the ability of removal of non-metallic inclusion of current-conductive mould ESR is not lower, even higher than the traditional ESR。
