Abstract:By adding different proportions of hematite to the pellets with basicity of 1, the influence of hematite on the properties of basic pellets was investigated. The experimental results showed that with the increase of hematite ratio from 0% to 40%, the drop strength of green pellets increased and the compressive strength of pellets changed little. The compressive strength of finished pellets decreased from 2 460 N/P without hematite to 1 890 N/P with 40% hematite, the internal porosity of finished pellets decreased from 25.84% to 21.45%, and the average pore diameter increased from 2 184.7 to 3 937.9 nm. Through microscopic observation, it was found that the crystal structure formed by recrystallization of hematite was looser and the crystal connection was weaker than that formed by magnetite solid-phase consolidation. The addition of hematite significantly improved the reduction expansion rate of basic pellets, which decreased from 30.45% to 13.23%. In general, it was feasible to add hematite to the pellets with an alkalinity of 1.
