Abstract:The mechanism and factors affecting the direct reduction of high phosphorus oolitic hematite were investigated. The results showed the final metallizing ratio of pellets increased obviously with the increase of heating temperature when the reaction temperature was low than 1100℃. But increasing temperature had little effect on the pellet metallization rate when the reaction temperature was over 1100℃. And the higher the metallizing ratio of pellets, the better the magnetic concentrate iron grade. The reduction temperature affected significantly not only the metallizing ratio of pellets, but also the growth of metallic iron crystals. Therefore, it was essential to control a suitable temperature for direct reduction of high phosphorus oolitic hematite pellets containing carbon.
