Research and application of flatness control on DR9 tinplate

Abstract:According to the edge wave and warping problems of DR9 tinplate in double cold rolling and tension leveling process, the shape control ability of the double cold rolling mill, the roll contour configuration, the kiss between work roll ends, the variation of the shape defects of strip steel in coiling process and the effects of the tin plating tension leveller on the strip shape warping defects of strip steel were analyzed. At the same time, the causes and rules of the edge wave and warping defects were determined. On this base, the flatness control strategy and technologies of DR9 tinplate were proposed and applied in the tinplate production line of Shougang Jingtang. The 20 IU center wave of DR9 tinplate after double cold rolling was improved to 5 IU edge wave, which indicated that the edge wave defects were entirely eliminated. And the shape defects were dramatically improved, the warping height of tinplate after tension leveling was reduced from 35 to 10 mm.
