Abstract:The investigation was based on a kind of stone coal vanadium ore in Hubei province. The vanadium is mostly found in vanadium mica, then the vanadium wrapped in carbon and free vanadium. In order to investigate the effects of reducing roast on the leaching rate of vanadium in vanadium mica, firstly, experimental conditions of the removing process of free vanadium and vanadium wrapped in carbon were studied via TG- DSC analysis combined acidic leaching by the hydrochloric acid. During the reducing roast process, the effects of the calcination temperature, the dosage of reducing agent and the addition of oxidizing agent were investigated and determined. The results showed that in leaching process, the addition of oxidant KMnO4 had no obvious difference on the leaching rate of vanadium with the nature leaching in air. While in reducing roast process, the leaching rate of vanadium can be increased by the addition of some amount of reductive agent Al.
