Abstract:The correlation between the nitrogen mass fraction and the slab corner crack were theoretically summarized. And according to the positive correlation relationship between the nitrogen mass fraction in steel and the slab corner transverse cracks, the control objective of the nitrogen mass fraction was studied. Through the analysis of the sources of nitrogen, the influences of the nitrogen mass fraction on the boron steel, aluminized steel and containing niobium steel were studied. Combined with the nitrogen mass fraction control in other steel plant, the control conditions of the nitrogen mass fraction in each process in a plant were found out, and the control measures were formulated. By comparing the nitrogen mass fraction in steel to the slab corner cut data, the control targets for some steel grades were proposed, which can further reduce the slab corner cut rates.
