Abstract:The researches on fundamental properties of blast furnace dust, which included size distribution, chemical composition, phase composition, were conducted and detailed experiments were also performed by adopting process of magnetic roasting-low intensity magnetic separation. The results indicated that the chemical composition of the dusts was inhomogeneous when grouped by size, and carbon existed in large-sized particles of dusts, while zinc and iron concentrated in small-sized particles of dusts. Phase composition of No.3 and No.6 blast furnace dust were Fe2O3, Fe3O4, SiO2 and FeZn13. Phase composition of No.5 blast furnace dust were Fe2O3, Fe3O4, SiO2 and CaZn(Si2O6). The iron and zinc mass fraction could reach 57.9% and 0.25%, respectively, while recover rate could reach 67% with optimum parameters such as roasting temperature being 750℃, roasting time being 60 min and magnetic field intensity being 0.4A.
