Simulation of flow field for direct reduction technology of carbon-containing pellets in shaft furnace

Abstract:For the characteristics of smelting process with carbon-containing pellets in shaft furnace, the simulation model for direct reduction process of carbon-containing pellets in shaft furnace was established by using CFD (computational fluid dynamics) software. The possible factors of influenced the distribution of flow field in the shaft furnace was simulated and the optimal parameters was obtained. The results show that, the technique of used top and bottom double tuyeres layout was the most conducive to reducing gas anterograde inside the shaft furnace. By this time, the gas flow rate can reach 9 m/s, and it is advantageous to the heat transfer, at the same time ,it can also to make the pellets avoided uneven heated.
