Abstract:Charging of continuous casting slab in γ+α phase region will lead to the core mixed crystal of hot rolled strip, which will do harm to the microstructure and mechanical properties of the strip. In this work, through the finite element simulation, the temperature field of DHCR and HCR slab is calculated with the steel grade of SS400 in the condition of 2250mm production line of Shougang Qiangang company which is built with compact layout. After cutting, it takes about 15 min for DHCR slab to arrive at the entrance of furnace, and now the core and surface temperature of slab is about 830-860℃ and 779-803℃ respectively, which are both located in γ+α phase zone. In hot charging case, the time of air cooling of slab should be more than 2.8h to guarantee that the core temperature of slab is below 700℃ and the α phase transition has completed.
