Microstructure and Property of Ultra High Strength Cold Rolled Dual Phase Steel for 800-1200 MPa

The 800~1200 MPa grade ultra-high strength cold rolled dual phase steels were trial-produced in the laboratory. The hot rolled microstructure for DP800 and DP1000 was ferrite + pearlite, but that for DP1200 was ferrite + pearlite + bainite. After cold rolled and annealed, the steels showed typical dual phase microstructure and the mechanical properties reached the required of corresponding grade. The martensite volume fraction for DP800 and DP1000 was less than 50%, so ferrite was the matrix. For DP1200, the martensite volume fraction was more than 50%, and the martensite became the matrix. Finally, the relationship of the mechanical property parameters was analysed.
