Thermodynamic Analysis and Calculation on Oxidizing Dephosphorization of Ferrochromium Alloy

Abstract:By means of thermodynamic analysis, based on correlated thermodynamic data, the reaction process of oxidizing dephosphorization of ferrochromium alloy was studied from the point of dephosphorizationand chromium conservation. It is found that highly basic BaO based slags is more suitable for oxidizing dephosphorization of ferrochromium alloy. In addition, oxygen potential is controlled better by the addition of certain amount of Cr2O3. The initial carbon concentration should be increased and the initial temperature should be reduced to protect the oxidizing dephosphorization of ferrochromium alloy. It can provide theoretical basis for the smelting of ferrochromium alloy.
