Investigation of Inclusions Controlling and Optimization of Rolling Process with High-Carbon Wire Rod

Analytical techniques such as metallographic examination、image handle instrument were applied to distinguish non-metallic the inclusions in 82B steel produced in Xuanhua steel works. Meanwhile the mechanical property of 82B wire rod was detected. The test results showed the greatest harm to steel comes from those large nondeformable alumina inclusion and the average extension rate of finished product was 8.1%. Some optimizing measures were carried out to controlling inclusions and improve rolling effect . The optimization test results showed break phenomenon caused by nondeformable inclusion was reduced, sorbite proportion was achieved to 85%~90% and average extension rate of was 11.6%.
