Abstract:To improve the desulfurizing power of ladle slag, CaF2CaO and B2O3CaO were separately selected as modifiers. The experiments on sulfur partition between metal and slag indicate that the desulfurizing capacity of ladle refining slag could be enhanced effectively by adding CaF2CaO (w(CaF2)=10%~20%) or B2O3CaO (w(B2O3)=25%~50%). The sulfur content of metal can be further decreased by the modified ladle slag.
