Abstract:Pelletizing shaft furnace(PSF) with internal vertical air channels(IVAC) and drying bed is a conventional pellet roasting equipment in China. With the great increase of iron and steel output, it is more difficult to adapt the situation for PSF because of its inefficient output, therefore, it is of great imminence to enlarge its scale and improve its efficiency. From the aspect of thermal engineering of metallurgical furnace, three key problems were put forward scientifically to enlarge the scope of production and improve efficiency for PSF with IVAC and drying bed: gassolid water equivalent ration, height of preheatingroasting zone and width of roasting zone. Moreover, some conclusions were drawn as follows: the desirable gassolid water equivalent ratio may be determined by the equations of gassolid heat exchange and thermal equilibrium; the height of preheatingroasting zone may be defined from the aspects of roasting technicque of pellet and gas flow in PSF;the width of roasting zone may be obtained by the view of roasting gas distribution in roasting zone.
