on coking coal coking performance

The coking coal winnowing and moisture control technology was used to select and classify the blended coals. And the effects of the particle size distribution and moisture of the blended coals after grading by the coking coal winnowing and moisture control technique on the quality of coke were analyzed by coal sample test, bulk density test and 40 kg coking oven test. The coking coal samples were classified into grading and nongrading pulverization treatments, and selective screening and fineness adjustment were carried out based on the six types of particle size distribution. Considering selective screening and fineness adjustment, which was based on the screening pulverization and noscreening pulverization of coking coal samples, contrast tests of six kinds of coking coal samples were conducted. The results proved that after using the screening pulverization of winnowing and moisture control technique, the crush strength M40 of coke increased by 1.9% to 5.8% and the abrasion strength M10 improved by 0.1% to 0.3%. When the coal sample fineness enhanced from 73.0% to 84.0%, the crush strength of coke increased by 2.4% to 4.1% and the abrasion strength improved by 0.5% to 0.7%. The bulk density of coke increased when screening off the fines whose diameter was less than 1 mm resulting in the improvement of the abrasion strength M10. The bulk density of coke increased with the decline of water content and tended to be stable when the water content in coal sample was greater than 8%. The nonlinear regression equations of the bulk density and moisture of the coal sample were given. The twoway analysis of variance of a medium diameter and coal sample moisture on the bulk density was carried out. The research results were beneficial to improving the existing coal winnowing and moisture control equipments.
